Program Notes

Similar in scope and design to Camphouse's well-established Tribute, Declarations is a sonorous and challenging eight and a half minute work, conceived primarily as a concert opener.

Declarations was commissioned by Dr. Garwood Whaley and the Bishop Ireton High School Symphonic Wind Ensemble (Alexandria, Va.), and received its premiere performance on March 30, 1996, in the historic George Washington Masonic National Memorial, in Alexandria.
