David Eastmond
Biography
David A. Eastmond (b. 1981, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian composer.
Mr. Eastmond's earliest musical training began with piano lessons at the age of 11. David's interest in music and composition started in secondary school where he took up the trombone, euphonium, tuba, and eventually the clarinet. In his 3rd year he composed his first piece for the high school concert band. This piece enjoyed public performance by various ensembles including the Chinguacousy C.B in Brampton, ON, and the Longwood College C.B in Virginia.
David attended the University of Toronto where he studied clarinet, music education and theory and composition. He studied clarinet with Peter Stoll and composition with Chan Ka Nin, John Hawkins, and Christos Hatzis.
