Program Notes

This piece brings an attitude that is unmistakable. A jazzy flavor combines a little sass with a touch of glitz and glam that really sets this piece apart. Fast-paced rhythmic riffs support breathtaking melodies that are contrasted with an expressive, lyrical section for a complete musical package that is both impressive and uplifting.

The piece is dedicated to the memory of Christina Lattanzi, a flute player in the band who also played piano in the school's jazz band. Descriptions of her spirit, energy and bubbly personality provided the inspiration for the piece.
