Program Notes
Wilke Renwick's Dance is a perennial favorite for brass quintets. Its concise rhythmically-driven theme is furthered intensified by unusual meters and shifting of accents. With some measure in 7/8, 11/8 and 9/8, coupled with the more conventional 4/4 meter, the overall effect of the work is one of high energy, although not easily danced.
