Program Notes

An exciting and energetic snare drum solo begins this composition, with the woodwinds foreshadowing material soon to come and a brass introduction, which is concluded by a beautiful bassoon cadenza. Credence prominently features the percussion section, especially the snare drum and timpani. With plenty of time signature changes, Credence gives the educator an opportunity to explain non-functional major chords, polychords and chromaticism.
