Program Notes

This four-movement suite was written when I was composer in residence for a wind course in Southern France. I subsequently arranged it for symphonic wind band early in 2020. Morning Song describes the songs of birds and insects, and Amphibians refers to the toads and frogs that were everywhere, including in our tents. Sun Lovers evokes the lizards, basking on stones and walls, and Night Flight refers to fluttering moths and swooping bats.
