Program Notes

This fantastic solo has quickly become a standard in the euphonium repertoire. It has three movements. The first movement opens with a lively and very catchy theme before quickly moving to a highly expressive tranquilo section. The second movement is slow and highly expressive, featuring many soaring lines that showcase the lyrical qualities of the euphonium. The final movement is in a lively and animated 6/8 with many soaring technical runs.
