Program Notes
Commemoration Overture was written to mark the 50th anniversary of the United States Navy Band. The piece received its premiere performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D. C. on March 4, 1975, with Lieutenant Commander Ned Muffley conducting. The work is dedicated "to the United States Navy Band, LCDR Ned Muffley, Director."
