Program Notes

A Chorus Loud and Strong is one of three short fanfares commissioned by the University of North Carolina Greensboro School of Music to celebrate their 100th anniversary (1921–2021). The title comes from the first two lines of the UNCG Alma Mater:

We raise our voices, let them swell
In a chorus loud and strong

I have a long and warm association with UNCG, including having taught music composition there, and wish the School of Music another successful 100 years of education and inspiration to all those who walk its halls.
