Program Notes

This Roman deity is instantly recognized by his unique winged feet and hat; the music bobs and weaves much like this swift-winged messenger of legend. The playful melodies describe a friendly chase with this fleet-footed character, with musical motifs darting in and out including two famous themes by Holst. As the musical race continues, a well-crafted and spirited work takes shape, giving life to this delightfully imaginative sonic story.
