Program Notes

The beautifully flowing opening lines feature melodic elements that enhance and display the ensemble's musicality. The second half provides the exuberance and zeal inherent in Celtic music, complete with authentic drumming that fuels the drive to the exhilarating finale.

-Program Note from publisher

The rich and vibrant heritage of Celtic music serves as the inspiration for this original piece for concert band. The beautiful and lyric ballad that opens sounds as if it comes floating across the Irish moors, plaintive in nature but with an element of proud nobility. This is followed by a joyful and energetic dance-like section that glows with good natured humor, both percussive and exuberant, with all the elements one would expect from an authentic Irish dance or reel for a brilliant finish!
