Program Notes
Celebration of Praise is a composition which utilizes four musical resources: Fanfare of Jinrichuv Hradec by an anonymous composer from Bohemia, circa 1560, the African hymn In Christ There is No East or West, and the well-known 18th century German hymn tunes, Hyfrydol and Lobe den Herron.
Celebration of Praise was commissioned by Professor Lewis Schmidt of Lakeland College, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, for the 125th anniversary of that institution and for the dedication ceremony of the Bradley Fine Arts Center on that campus.
