Program Notes

For Maestro Erich Kunzel in celebration of his 30th season as conductor of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.

- Program Note from score

The orchestral version of Celebration Fanfare was composed by Steven Reineke while in Swans Island, Maine, in 1995. The fanfare commemorates Erich Kunzel's 30th anniversary as the conductor of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. It was the first of many commissions Reineke would receive from the Pops. The composer completed the band transcription in December 1998, under a commission from the U.S. Coast Guard Band.
