Program Notes

Canon Fanfare was composed at the very end of 2020 ad in the first few days of 2021. As the tumultuous year 2020 came to a close and we turned the page to a new year, I had an idea. What if I started off 2021 with a fanfare, a celebration of what is surely a hopeful year for many people? Canon Fanfare was born out of this desire.

The work is essentially an A-B-A form, with an opening fanfare section, a canon, and a closing fanfare.
