Program Notes

Commissioned for the Shelby County (Ala.) All-County Honor Band, this work draws its title from the Cahaba River, the longest free-flowing river in Alabama. The outward dances are lively and busy, reflecting the growth and prosperity of the region, while the middle section is more contemplative, portraying the area's scenic natural beauty.
