Program Notes

A work as sweeping as the countryside it represents. Native American-inspired melodies flow throughout, often accompanied by rhythmic dance-like figures. The center of the piece is a single original hymnsong that reflects on the natural beauty of the landscape. The intensity then returns along with the sounds of Native American dance, creating a festive atmosphere before the concluding fanfare.
