Biography

Brooke Pierson (b. 30 April 1987, Toledo, Ohio) is an American educator, performer and composer.

Mr. Pierson holds a BA in music education from Michigan State University and is currently chair of the Fine Arts Department at the Washtenaw International High School and Middle Academy, (Ypsilanti, Mich.), teaching orchestra, band, music history, music culture, and music composition. He has held this position since the school's inception in 2011.

Mr. Pierson's music has been performed by ensembles in the U.S. and abroad, such as the Michigan State University Symphony Band, Dallas Winds Brass, West Point Band, and the Banda Musicale Citta di Seriate from Italy. Brooke was also a winner of the Dallas Winds fanfare competition in 2018.

Since 2009, Brooke has appeared as a guest composer, guest conductor, and teacher to schools and organizations. He also regularly collaborates with musicians and educators throughout the world; not only with instrumental music but as a teacher with International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Program music.

He also served as the music director of Grace Lutheran Church (Howell, Mich.) for eight years.
