Program Notes

This award winning composer proves he can also write creative material for less experienced groups. Opens with a lilting British-style march utilizing block scoring and fast-paced harmonic rhythms along with contrasting lyrical passages for brass and woodwinds.

Bristol Bay Legend was commissioned by the Long Beach Middle School Band, Long Beach, New York, Richard Hornung, director. It is dedicated to Elly Salzman whose devoted committment has furthered the love of music in Long Beach.
