Program Notes

Using the folk songs Brighton Camp, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and The Cruel War as melodic bases, this prolific composer has created a sterling new march. A sense of cheerful lightness permeates the outer sections, while the use of The Cruel War for a trio theme gives this section a sense of poignant beauty.
