Program Notes
A Brighter Light is one of three short fanfares commissioned by the University of North Carolina Greensboro School of Music to celebrate their 100th anniversary (1921-2021). I felt the music for this one has something of an introspective, yearning quality to it, compared to the others, thus the hopeful title. I have a long and warm association with UNCG, including having taught music composition there, and wish the School of Music another successful 100 years of education and inspiration to all those who walk its hall.
