Program Notes
The Bo Guamo's Battle is a single movement piece for bass trombone and concert band. It has an A-B-A form. Part A has a brilliant symphonic traditional style with a 5/4 meter, and Part B has a more 4/4 urban-pop music style from the composer's Puerto Rican heritage.
"Bo Guamo" means big trumpet in Taino language and the Puerto Rican Native Indians.
