Program Notes
Nothing beats waking up in the morning, stepping outside and finding that there isn’t a cloud in the sky. Such great promise is held in a blue sky day. This work hopefully reflects the optimism embodied in this somewhat innocent phrase.
Program note by Timothy Mahr
Blue Sky Day was commissioned for the 2005 North Dakota All-State Band by the North Dakota National Band Association, and the North Dakota Music Educators Association.
