Program Notes

Inspired by one of Ohio’s first women band directors, this spirited work showcases all sections of the advancing concert band. Bold brass fanfares introduce a regal, uplifting melody that is followed by a beautifully expressive middle section alluding to the tune Amazing Grace, and a powerful ending.
