Biography
Billy Madison (b. 1958, Arkansas) is an American composer and educator.
Mr. Madison earned a Bachelor of Music degree in music education (1981), a Master of Music degree in theory and composition (1982), and a Specialist degree in community college teaching (1988).
He has been active as an educator, percussionist, performer, and conductor in Arkansas for more than 25 years.
As a composition student of Jared Spears and Tom O'Connor, Mr. Madison learned a practical approach to writing for various levels of performers that makes his works accessible to students and professionals alike. He has written and arranged a large number of pieces for band, orchestra, musical theater, solos, and chamber ensembles.
