Program Notes

This exciting composition opens aggressively as the trumpet section leads the way with bold melodic material accompanied by powerful chords and driving percussion. A brief, more lyrical high woodwind phrase introduces a highly rhythmic section that explores contrasting textures as it builds in intensity to a restatement of earlier material before moving to a dramatic conclusion.
