Program Notes
Miguel Asíns Arbó (1916-1996) was one of Amando Blanquer's first teachers at the Valencia Conservatory. That prolific composer of television, film and symphony music was ahead of his time with a language rich in harmonic colours and highly structured developments, as can be seen in the Ballets suite (1991), based on different traditional themes with their own rhythms of the dance scene of the 1950s, where he combined his folk studies with his light music facility.
