Program Notes
This piece is a symphonic work constructed from melodic fragments based on two folk tunes presented in the piece. The composer has attempted to convey the feeling of both joy and sadness by contrasting the light, almost frivolous tune of the Queensland Drover with the melancholy of Moreton Bay.
