Austin Ralphson
Biography
Austin Ralphson is a British arranger, educator and trombonist.
Ralphson completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Surrey in 1996 and then went on to do a PGCE (Secondary Music) at Liverpool Hope University College. Since then, he has taught music in two secondary schools and is currently [2021] head of music in a school in the North West of England.
As a trombonist, he currently plays with the North West Brass Quintet which travels around the North West of England to play for many different types of events.
Ralphson arranges music for small and large ensembles, including big band, brass quintet, brass ensemble, saxophone quartet, saxophone ensemble, string quartet, recorder quartet, wind quintet, trombone quartet and brass band, as well as many educational products. His arrangements also covers many styles of music, from classical to modern popular songs.
