Austin Ali

Biography

Austin Ali (b. 1997, Plano, Tx) is an American composer, trumpet player, and conductor.

Mr. Ali is pursuing a BM in music composition and a BA in an interdisciplinary honors program at the University of Texas, with a 2020 graduation date. He studies with Russell Podgorsek, Donald Grantham, and Yevgeniy Sharlat.

Musicians from Dallas, Texas, to Washington, DC, to Valencia, Spain have performed Austin’s music, including brass quintets, string quartets, symphony orchestras, and choirs.

In addition to composing, Austin loves to play the trumpet. Recently, he toured Guatemala and Costa Rica with Big Wy’s Brass Band.

Austin’s music has been performed by musicians at every level, from high school to the Austin Symphony Orchestra. His work Blissful Nightmares was awarded first place in the 2015 Sarah and Ernest Butler Austin Symphony Texas Young Composers Contest.
