Program Notes

A musical portrait of the English countryside in this well-crafted original for the Junior High/Middle School band. Certain to be a favorite among young performers, the lush opening theme is cleverly scored through several colorful and appealing variations.

Ashford Variations was commissioned by and is dedicated to the 1991-1992 Wilson Middle School Concert Band, Newark, Ohio, Don Workman, director.
