Program Notes
This is a hidden gem of a work from the passionate composer Frank Erickson. With permission of Alfred Publishing, this work incorporates embellished rhythms, harmonies and modulations to maintain the original work’s masterpiece while allowing more suitable adjustments for the young performer. This is a great teaching work composed by one of our generation’s best-known writers. Ingredients such as the subtle use of mixed meters, long legato lines, and beautiful musical phrases mark this as classic Erickson.
