This beautiful work creatively explores the distinctive sonority and emotional effect of the concert band. With lyrical, engaging lines that require musicians to approach the piece in a passionate and sensitive manner, the composition includes melodic opportunities for each wind part, rhythmic variety, effective contrasts of dynamics, and soft, graceful opening and closing sections.
As stated by the composer, "Words would just get in the way.”
