Program Notes

A wonderful and challenging composition from the pen of composer Robert Sheldon which is sure to become a popular selection for years to come. Brief woodwind solo spots contrast with the powerful sounds and textures of the full ensemble sections makes this a very attractive and distinctive piece.

Appalachian Legacy was commissioned by the Northwest District High School Honor Band, Boone, North Carolina, in rememberance of Kathryn Siphers.
