Biography

Anthony Donato (8 March 1909, Prague, Neb. - 29 October 1990, Bradenton, Fla.) was an America composer and violinist.

He studied at the Eastman School of Music, earning a bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. degree, in 1947. He taught violin at several American colleges and universities, including the University of Texas and Northwestern University. Among his compositions are two symphonies and numerous orchestral and chamber works.

Dr. Donato also wrote a well-regarded book, Preparing Music Manuscript (1963).
