Program Notes

A joyous, vibrant overture is always enjoyable for both performers and audiences alike! As the title suggests, with shimmering woodwind parts and bold, brassy themes, the character of this work is "reaching for the stars." Even the more subdued middle section builds to a dramatic conclusion.
