Angelo Sormani (b. 1965) is an Italian composer and conductor.
Sormani studied trumpet, electronic music composition, experimental composition, choral singing, band instrumentation, and choir direction at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan. He then took advanced courses in analysis, composition, and band instrumentation with Franco Cesarini at the Instituto Superiore Bandistico Europeo in Trento.
He plays with the Lugano Civica Filarmonica, and has been a choir director for more than 10 years, and also has played with big band and jazz ensembles. He teaches at the Scuola Civica in Lugano and is director of the A. Manzoni Band in Lecco and the mini-band of the Lugano Civica Filarmonica. He is also on the teaching staff at the technology and physics laboratory of the L. Ripamonti Professional Institute for Industry and Handicrafts in Como.
