Program Notes

Musically depicting the lake community from Ohio, American Landscape No. 1 features two distinct musical "images". Following the introductory fanfare, "On the Town" captures the cheerful hustle and bustle of the community as the town comes to life each morning. "Mist of the Morn" recalls the distinct image of green rolling hills in the beautiful countryside wrapped in the morning mist as the sun rises above the horizon.

- Program Note from publisher

Inspired by uniquely American art of Norman Rockwell. Commissioned for the Lake High School Band Program, Richard Kibler, Director, by Lake Township of Hartville and Uniontown, Ohio, for the grand opening dedication of their Community Complex Performing Arts Hall, May 2003.
