Program Notes
The first of four American Folk Rhapsodies, this superb work, originally written in 1948, is a wonderful example of both U.S. school band literature and the exceptional writing/arranging skills of Clare Grundman. Including: My Little Mohee (more commonly known as On Top of Old Smokey); Shantyman's Life; Sourwood Mountain and Sweet Betsy from Pike, this is an outstanding, proven work for both concert and contest.
