Program Notes

Originally composed for the University of North Texas Wind Ensemble, this march was first performed by Frederick Fennell and the Dallas Wind Symphony in February 1996. Maestro Fennell called it "a d@*n good march!" This light-spirited march features a trumpet duet at the trio and counter-melodies in a "yodeling" style. It has been used by several Dallas-area high school bands in sweepstakes contest performances.
