Program Notes

Aerial Escape is a fast three-minute work that shifts through multiple different characters and rhythmic styles. The title and theme of Aerial Escape refers to my first compositional influences. I wrote a large collection of works based on flight in in my earlier years. These pieces varied from works based on a flying phoenix, dogfights in the sky, to gliding down mountains. To represent all of these works from the past, I use the melodies from these past compositions to construct a brand new work. The sense of flight is still prominent in the work.
