Program Notes
Two folksongs, I'm Just a Beggar and Poor Wayfaring Stranger, are juxtaposed in shifting major and minor neo-modal tonality, a beautiful musical contrast away from more flamboyant band repertoire. It was originally published as Fantasia on a Folk Theme.
