Program Notes
I love the xylophone instrument very much. When I hear the familiar and light sound, I feel excited and want to start running. Although there are many works in which the xylophone plays an important role, I think that there are few xylophone concertos for wind band.
Xylophone Magic is a work that makes the most of the characteristics of musical instruments and is fun to watch and interesting! Trills, glissandos, and homophones are effective playing methods, so please feel free to play them. In addition, please try various ways to make it a comical combination with flexatone. As one of the fun performances, if you play while moving the xylophone, it may look like Xylophone Magic as the title says. If you can afford the number of percussionists, please add a marimba or vibraphone to play the melody gorgeously.
You can feel more attractive with xylophone!
