Program Notes

At the title implies, this exceptional young band composition includes variations on a lovely slow and eexpressive opening theme. A faster sections follows, carrying with it ideas from the opening before moving on to some fresh sounding flute soli work in 3/4. The final section is quite exciting and provides a brilliant conclusion.

Wyndham Variations is dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of "Between Friends", an international cultural band exchange program between Beech Grove Middle School, Beech Grove, Indiana and Bliss Carman Senior Public School, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, Charles R. Birt and Dennis Carpenter, directors.
