Program Notes

A programmatic piece, Winterwinds celebrates the power and majesty of the season. The fiery opening theme expresses the fury of a winter blizzard, while effective melodies and sparkling orchestration depict winter work and play, and the calm cold beauty of a winter day.

Winterwinds was commissioned by The Commission Project for the Willink Middle School Seventh Grade Band, Katrina Wahl, director.
