Wil van der Beek

Biography

Wil van der Beek (b. 1949, Sittard, the Netherlands) is a Dutch arranger and conductor.

Van der Beek studied clarinet, conducting and pedagogy. After completing school, he worked as a teacher in his native Sittard.

Van der Beek was a conductor from the age of 18, leading various wind band, harmony bands and fanfare bands. He has also guided young conductors in their first steps in the profession.

As a composer, he is mainly active in the field of transcriptions and arrangements for wind (symphonic) orchestras. Numerous arrangements and transcriptions by him have been performed all over the world.

Van der Beek has received several awards from the German Music Association and the European CISM.
