Program Notes
The title comes from Psalm 65:8 -
"The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
where morning dawns, where evening fades,
you call forth songs of joy."
Where Morning Dawns, Where Evening Fades opens with the last bit of starlight before the sun breaks over the horizon. As night gives way to day, each phrase crescendos from the one before it culminates in a burst of sunlight. Night settles in again, and the piece closes with the same starlight it started with.
