Program Notes
West Point Suite was commissioned by the United States Military Academy on the occasion of its Sesquicentennial birthday (1802-1952). It was first performed by the United States Military Academy Band under the direction of Maj. Francis E. Resta, commanding officer and director of music. The premiere took place on January 5, 1952, at Carnegie Hall.
