Program Notes
Two Native American Songs is a composition built on two melodies of the Native American tribes of Wisconsin. The composition was written in August, 1998 for use on a Wisconsin Sesquicentennial tribute concert, and was given its first public performance by the Owen-Withee Junior High Band, Owen, Wisconsin, on October 25, 1998.
Do Not Weep is a lullaby from the Ojibway (more commonly known as the Chippewa) tribe, who populated portions of Wisconsin, the upper mid-west, and south-central Canada. Forget Me Not is a Winnebago melody.
