Program Notes

In Twisted, heavy bass and syncopated rhythms of dubstep, an electronic dance music that originated in London in the late 1990s, combine with sounds of trance, an electronic style of music that developed in Germany in the 1990s.

Performance Notes

Twisted is a short piece for any combination of instruments, including winds, strings, and mallet percussion and fixed media. This piece can be performed with as few as three players and parts are entirely adaptable. I encourage you to adapt this piece and each part for your ensemble, which will allow for a truly unique performance. Percussion students may either perform the mallet part on a keyboard instrument or improvise on any other percussion instrument.
