Program Notes

Trumpets and Bridges was composed to celebrate the opening of a new bridge linking Austria with Germany. This bridge is a symbol for the meeting of cultures and the lifting of borders. In the third millennium, geographical and political borders are losing their meaning, and often they cause senseless suffering. Music is the best evidence against the necessity of borders. Music is more global and international than any other language, because it is understood in the heart, where no boundaries exist.
